PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

My Sacred Lotus was in included in part of a seed series for a greening Australia campaign project. The illustrations of my botanical seed series art prints were inspired by the Adelaide Botanical Gardens, they were either found on the grounds or photographed from the Museum of Botanic Economy.  The lotus has been a long time favorite of mine, it’s spectacular in bloom and the ancient Buddhist symbolism of the lotus flowers blossoming on long stalks, floating above muddy waters and attachment of desire, symbolizes the purity of body, heart and mind.

I take a photo of the lotus pond at change of season every year. The illustration was done by hand and then brought into digital software to add design elements and to play with colour to create a dramatic flair combining a hand made abstract art piece using ink wash to the background of the seed pods.

The images displayed in different scenes within the art gallery shop are for inspiration purposes only.
